IMPACT

McKinsey and Company - Lighting the Way

Switching to LED lighting is economically more attractive than any other means of CO2 abatement. That means switching to LED is more attractive than solar, wind, reforestation, hybrid vehicles, carbon sequestration. We should be moving as rapidly as possible to adopt LED everywhere that it makes sense. “

UPGRADED LIGHTING to LED

Upgrading outdated lighting to LED is a strategic, moral, environmental, health and financial decision.
Very few steps we can take have this much upside - better light, longer product lifetimes, improved working conditions leading to happier employees, substantial energy savings, and significant impact on our environmental footprint. In fact, we would argue that nothing compares!

Take a simple incandescent bulb for example - its use results in 4,500 pounds of CO2 annually, while a similarly powered LED bulb contribute only 451 pounds of CO2 run one year. Just think what kind of massive impact you can have by upgrading the lights in your facility. 400W Metal Halides replaced by 80W LED high bays for instance. You are saving the electricity used to power those saved 320W, but you are also reducing your CO2 footprint dramatically.
